So Thrilled!!!!!!!!

So if I haven't stated this before, I am a film major and am completely in love with old Classical Hollywood. While this is a super fun topic to study, it's also hard to get a lot of the movies on DVD, let alone even see them. Well, today I stumbled upon this website that said that Warner Bros. was going to open up their archived films and sell them for home video use. I was so excited, so I checked it out to see if it was in fact real. Well...... it WAS!!!!!!!
I looked over the 155 movies they have listed so far and there are at least 4 or 5 Cary Grant films that I have been having the hardest time locating. (Cary Grant is one of my top three favor actors, I LOVE him).
I thought I would pass this information on to my blogging friends, in case your love of vintage flows over into films. Click HERE to visit the page.

Flea Market Find

Well, my love for vintage linens has now crossed over to include quilts. I have been admiring many of my fellow bloggers' quilts and began to keep an eye out for one. I checked out eBay, but they seem to be super expensive on there. However, to my luck, I found one two weekends ago at the Royal Oak Flea Market and it was actually in my price range ($15).

While it does have a few flaws (some minor tears and stains, the pink blocks are faded), I am in LOVE with this quilt. I let it soak for about a day and probably should have let it soak longer, but I was so excited to wash and dry it so I could use it!!

Here's the whole quilt. There are pink blocks in between the tulips that have the tulip pattern stitched into the quilt. Its bigger than a twin size and smaller than a double bed size, but I think it could work well as a topper over another comforter.
These two tulips include some of my favorite material that is used in this quilt. I just love old feedsack!!

The economy here in Michigan has now begun to effect my booth. Sales have been down since the Christmas season and I have decided to temporarily shut down my booth at the end of April. I am thinking of doing a flea market this summer instead and listing more items in my etsy. Any thoughts or suggestions? I figured that since around here the flea market venue has become quite popular that I might do better at moving out some of my items.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!!

A New Addition!!!

For as long as I can remember I have ALWAYS wanted a dog. Well, after a long time waiting and deciding what kind of dog would be good for my family (my brother has allergies), I FINALLY got my puppy.
PUMPKIN
I named her Pumpkin because of her color. My mom thought of the name and I just loved it!! She is a Bichon Poo. She'll be three months on March 13th.

I was tagged for this award at Protector of Vintage. Thanks sooo much!! I think her blog is fab too, so check it out!!

And now before I leave to begin to take pictures of my finds and do some much needed reading for my classes, here is a picture of some wooden spools of thread and a large vintage Fire King measuring cup I pick up at an estate sale in December.

I can't believe it's December!!!

The month of November just flew right by!! I guess times goes by fast when you are having fun.....or are super busy!! This semester of school was pretty demanding and I am really looking forward to a little time off and the start of next semester -- less hard classes!! :) I am one of those nerds that actually likes school, even if I do complain about it a lot!!
Anyways!! This past November I made it to a lot of sales and still haven't been able to catch up with posting all my finds. I got this books for $0.25 each. My mom and I flipped through them...there are some great recipes and some interesting ones too, ones that I prolly won;t be trying ever!!
Sales at the booth were really good this past month as well. I was so happy because for a while there I was having a slow time at selling stuff, but I think with Christmas right around the corner things will start to pick up. Hope everyone is enjoying getting ready for Christmas!!

Finds Part 3

I don't know if I have ever mentioned that yellow is my favorite color. I usually will buy anything vintage that is yellow. This was the case when I found this cake carrier. I was at a thrift store and could not believe the $7.00 price tag. It is in wonderful shape, no rust and only a few tiny dents. The locks still work as well. I can't wait till I have my yellow kitchen some day, because I am sure this will look really cute sitting out somewhere!
A few days later I found the Flan plan at another thrift store for $0.99. I liked that it was almost the same color as the carrier and had the same writing on it. I also liked that it had a recipe on the back. This pan also looks like it was either never used or only once or twice. I love when you find items like that, don't you??

Finds Part 2

A few weeks ago, I attended this awesome estate sale. The lady that lived in the house was a WWII nurse and it looked like she held on to everything. The house was pretty packed and it was the second day of the sale. The lady running said she had sold a lot of stuff the first day, so I can only imagine how packed it was the day before! There was lots of stuff still in the packing. Here is just some of the things that I picked up at this sale. The toys are in mint condition and still in the boxes! They were only a dollar each!!! The serving spoon was also only a dollar. I originally bought it for the booth, but like many things that are bought for there, I am holding onto it for now.
Just a short little update for now. I went to a few estate sales today and have a lot of stuff to sort out, clean, and take pictures of!!

Some of My Finds

I finally broke out the camera to take some pictures of my recent finds for the blog. Instead of doing one long post, I am going to do it in a few...or maybe even more!

This is one of my favorite things I have found since I have started doing the whole estate sale thing. I got the Swanky Swigs at a thrift store close to my college while I was on a break in between some classes. The best part was the thrift store was having this promotion where if you had a student ID you got an additional 20% off your purchase. So....I ended up only paying $6.00 for seven glasses (even though only 6 are pictured). Then, two days later I was at an estate sale and found the carrier for only a buck!!! The whole thing cost me less than ten bucks and I am super thrilled. I looked this up on eBay, and it seems like they can go for big bucks!! I feel like I got such a deal!!

Vintage Pink Christmas Swap

It's been forever since I have posted anything. It's getting to be the end of the semester at school and that means it's term paper time! I have been working hard at school and haven't found enough time in the day to get all the things done that I want. It will be nice when things slow down in a month!!

Anyways!!! The other day in the mail I received my Vintage Pink Christmas Swap from Deb. I was sooooo excited! Deb got everything right, I loved it all.

There was a vintage apron, pattern, hankie, 3 cards, an adorable little pickle ornament, snowflake ornaments (that my mom stole ;)), tissues with stocking on them, and a cute little box with some angels on it. Deb also made me these sweet cards and awesome notebook!!!

Thank you sooo much Deb!! I can't for Christmas to come now!!
