A Puppy in a Basket

Last week, I mentioned that I found an awesome plastic shopping basket at the thrift store, pictured above with my sweet little Pumpkin inside. I was super excited about it because I make the weekly trip to our local farmer's market and knew it would come in super handy. Plus, since it was plastic, I could rinse it out to keep it clean.

So imagine my surprise when on Friday, I found the basket pictured above at an estate sale. This one is wider and I knew would be perfect to hold house plants that I knew we were going to purchase this past weekend. And, it was only $1.

I am so smitten with both.... maybe too much so! ;)

So funny! I actually looked at the second picture first before reading what you wrote, and actually scrolled back up because I was confused how the bag changed shape. Duh. Great finds! They are really cute, especially for toting puppies. ;)

I used to carry those all of the time in the early '70's. If I remember, I would buy them at my beloved Woolworths!

How funny, my mom had several of these when I was growing up-- she used hers for yarn/sewing notions. Sadly I never see them at stores/sales, I only found one years ago at an estate sale. Guess people probably threw them away?

Gram used those baskets for holding her latest crocheted afghan project. She had one in white, one in orange and one in purple that I remember. I don't know what she did with them.....but I do know that you are definitely Grandma's girl!! She loved you so, Emily! And I do, too!

Love,
M
P.S. The best thing to carry in your basket is Pumpkin. I lover her, too.

Your puppy is too cute! I've never been lucky enough to find one of those baskets at an estate sale. I jumped on the reusable bag bandwagon pretty early mostly due to my obsession with tote bags.

You look great in that dress! I like all your outfits, but this one's a real winner.
