Deal of the Day

Today I went to this garage sale that advertised tons of vintage clothing items. I didn't know what to expect, but I figured it was better to check it out and not come back with anything than to have not gone at all. There wound up only being a few dresses with major pit stains and some nightgowns from the 60s. I did find a box of nylons, seamed with a Cuban heel and a slip with a built in bra. But, the major "deal of the day" was this picnic basket purse which I bought for only $2. The lady holding the sale said it was her mothers and her father had it made for her mother in the late 50s. It looks as though it was never used. The inside is lined with a suede-like material and smells a bit like leather, so it might be real suede. Regardless, I am loving my new-to-me vintage bag!

What was your deal of the day?

Emily

what a steal! that is gorgeous. it's so sweet how a gentleman made this for his lady love, and that you got to purchase it from their daughter.
