Free Pattern Friday: a St. Patricks Day Craft for the Kids

Isn't this guy cute?  I just love all the cute projects featured in Jack and Jill magazine.  I used to really enjoy playing with these things when I was kid.

The only change I would make to the directions is to print this out on heavy card stock, skipping the step to glue this to cardboard.

As with all Livin' Vintage free downloads, this is for your personal use only.  Please do not repost, redistribute, or sell this download in whole or part.  Do feel free however to pin this and share the link.  Enjoy!

Make a Turkey | a vintage craft for the kids

Jack and Jill, 1963

I recently acquired some vintage Jack and Jill magazines and this little gem was among them.  It's a perfect craft to keep the kids busy on Thanksgiving morning while you are busy in the kitchen!  And, as the mini blurb above suggests, you can decorate the Thanksgiving table with your kids' creations.

There's still time to take the Etsy Shopper Survey and have a chance to win $25 to Livin' Vintage Shop!

How To Make Vintage Stuff Toys: The Ducking and The Dachshund

vintage diy stuffed toys

One of my goals for 2013 was to start building my vintage digital media library here on Livin' Vintage. I have a plethora of vintage paper relics and it's time to start digitizing them, share them, and build my online digital library.

I'm starting with this sweet pattern for a felt duck and dog.  I scanned them ages ago and can't remember which magazine I took it from -- I'm thinking a family circle maybe?  Regardless, they are cute and would make a perfect DIY gift for the vintage loving mama in your life!

I can't wait to share more!

A Teddy Bear Muff for the Kiddies

Yesterday I was flipping through my collection of vintage magazines to find some articles for something I am planning for the blog for 2011 and I came across this sweet little pattern for a children's muff. I thought it would be something great to share with my readers, especially since I know quite a few of you have little ones or have one on the way.

This comes from a December 1958 edition of "Woman and Home." (Click on the images to enlarge them).

They were originally letter sized, so if you would like to print them out, they will be actual size. If anyone makes one of these, please email me or comment and let me know. I'd love to see your results!!
